About us

The Wikimedia Community User Group Zambia is a group of volunteers who are working in an initiation of a local User Group of the Wikimedia Foundation. Its mission is to promote the Wikimedia Foundation and its projects in Zambia. One of its core missions is to aid and encourage people to collect, develop and disseminate knowledge and other educational, cultural and historic content in the public domain or under a license that allows everyone to freely use, distribute and modify said content without the payment of royalties.

The Wikimedia Community User Group Zambia is a community of individuals who are passionate about creating and sharing knowledge.

Edit-a-thons And Organizing workshops

Edit-a-thons are collaborative events where participants come together to create content on Wikimedia. As the Wikimedia Community User Group Zambia, we organize edit-a-thons focused on topics related to Zambia.

Wiki Clubs and promoting Wikimedia projects for

As Wikimedia User Group in Zambia, we establish Wiki Clubs in schools, universities teach students how to edit and contribute to Wikimedia. clubs could also organize content creation related to the students’ curriculum.

Translation Projects And Content Creation

As Wikimedia User Group in Zambia, we organize translation projects to translate content from Wikimedia projects into local languages, making it more accessible to people who may not be proficient in English.
